Yuvraj Singh feels his self-awareness has helped the most in earning a recall to the Indian team for Australia T20I and ODI series. "I think I was convinced about my body. I am much fitter now and mentally, I am quite refreshed after spending time on my fitness. I have spent some time with myself, which made me aware of my surroundings.

Ultimately, my self-awareness helped the most," he told the newspaper. Yuvraj said it takes time to recover from chemotherapy, which he underwent in the US for cancer. "I did train a lot at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore earlier, but it takes time to recover from chemotherapy. It stays in your body and the doctors had intimated me about the whole process.

It was all about staying focused on the job at hand. Despite training so hard, I felt that I needed to be slimmer and trimmer," he explained. He is now extremely happy to be back for international cricket and is looking forward to scoring runs as he has done in the recent past with India A and India Blue (Challenger Trophy). "I am extremely happy to be back, look forward to playing for India again. I will try and do my best for the country. I concentrated on my game and nothing else was there in my mind all this while. I have done well in international cricket earlier. Now, I hope to do well again," he said.
